Scope and technical standards

There are 14 types of audio and video equipments which are integrated into the scope of China Compulsory Certification, such as television, radio, set-top box, stereos, audio and video recording/playback/processing equipments (CD/VCD/DVD players, MP3, etc.), monitor, VCP, and other power adapters. Furthermore, the cable distribution system equipments for sound and television signal also have to meet certain electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The technical basis of the China Compulsory Certification is the mandatory requirement of national standards or national technical specifications. Table 1 lists the mandatory standards of the audio and video products in China Compulsory Certification.

Single-speaker and multi-speaker for the total output power below 500W; active speaker; radio; audio and video recording/playback/processing equipments; combination of audio and video systems; power adapter for audio and video equipment; cassette recorder/player; television receivers (including LCD, plasma displayer, and rear-projection); monitor; digital television set-top box; antenna amplifier; imaging tube (greater than 16cm).
