Migration of certain elements

The annex A.C and 4.3 toGB 6675-2003 specifies the maximum migration of certain elements in materials of toys, such as antimony (Sb), arsenic (As), barium (Ba), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg) and selenium (Se) , and the selection, preparation and extraction of test portions. The requirements were adopting ISO 8124-3:1997 (IDT).
 
The scope of the annex A.C and 4.3 to GB 6675-2003 can be used as follows:
l Coatings of paints, varnishes, lacquers, printing inks, polymers and similar coatings;
l Polymeric and similar materials, including laminates, whether textile-reinforced or not , but excluding other textiles;
l Paper and paper board, up to a maximum mass per unit area of 400 g/m2;
l Natural or synthetic textiles;
l Glass/ceramic/metallic materials, excepting lead solder when used for electrical connections;
l Other materials, whether mass-coloured or not;
l Materials intended to leave a trace;
l Pliable modeling materials ,including modeling clays, and gels;
l Paints to be used as such in the toy ,including finger paints, varnishes, lacquers, glazing powders and similar materials in solid or liquid form.
 
The detail maximum acceptable element migration of materials is as table 1, and analytical correction is as table 2.
