Technical standards of NAL

There are essentially two basic requirements for technical conformity of products entering China, namely Chinese standards and technical regulations – these documents define the implementation of certification procedures applying to the product.
Chinese national standards (GB standards) define the technical requirements for telecommunication equipment to be put on the Chinese market. The Standardization Administration of China (SAC) provides a national standards enquiry service searchable by standard number, title, ICS code, etc.
Most Chinese standards applying to telecommunication products are professional standards, often referred to as sartorial standards. In the field of telecommunication these are referred to as YD standards and are drafted by the China Communication Standards Association (CCSA), a standards organization under the MIIT. YD standards are either mandatory (YD) or voluntary (YD/T). Most YD standards are harmonized with international equivalents such as ITU, ETSI, 3gpp/3gpp2, etc. However, they are sensitive to frequently occurring Chinese deviations.
